The ZT.CE tram system is a cable drainage system designed to drain the area near the tram rails.

ZT.CE tram system - what is it and how does it work?

What is the ZT.CE tram system?

The ZT.CE tram system is based on the SYTEC CE15 linear drainage system. The CE system has been equipped with elements dedicated to collect the rainwater from the rail grooves and surrounding areas in order to efficiently and quickly discharge it away. This linear drainage system is extremely resistant to vibrations related to tram movement along the rails.

According to the PN-EN standard, the system is classified in group VI, i.e. it can be used at airports, in loading docks and wherever a load in the F900 class is present .The solution requires a concrete band in accordance with the installation manual. The CE type tramway sets have locks at the joints (concave and convex) that prevent the channels from moving horizontally. There are also grooves on the contacts, which enable the channel to be sealed with a permanently plastic and frost-resistant materials.

The ZT.CE tram system consists of the following modules: an inter-rail module for 1000 mm and 1435 mm track spacing, an external module and an inter-track module.

The system includes: drainage channels made of polymer concrete reinforced with cast iron slats, cast iron grates fastened with a snap system or screw, drainage chambers, end caps and with a drain pipe, drain collectors in 3 types with adjustable thickness, which allows to adjust the drainage length to the needs of the project. Assembly kits made of steel elements are necessary for the assembly of the track drainage system.

Operation of the ZT.CE tram system

The collected rainwater enters into the channel through openings in grates and T1 and T3 outflow collectors, equipped with special openings collecting water from the rails. The sewage can be discharged from the sewer to the receiver through the drain in the bottom of the 110 PVC channels or through the end cap with 160 PVC pipe closing the external module or the drainage pit.

The ZT.CE system - how is it different from other tram systems?

The feature that distinguishes the ZT.CE tram system from others available on the market is the material from which the channel body is made, i.e. polymer concrete, and the ability to adapt the system to the individual requirements of the investment. Polymer concrete is a material that is extremely chemically and mechanically resistant. Additionally, it presents an outstanding frost-resistant performance.
